Tour Description :
The tour of historic Beijing begins at the Yonghe Lamasery which is one of the best examples of Tibetan Buddhist temples here. Lama Temple incorporates diverse architectural styles of the Hans, Mongolians, Manchurians and Tibetans. The impressive 60-foot Maitreya Buddha sitting in the main hall is carved from a single sandalwood tree. Then you'll go to the Zoo to see the Giant Pandas, a living Chinese treasure. After a stop for lunch, you'll visit the emperor's resort, the scenic Summer Palace. Damaged by Eight Allied countries in 1900, it was renovated by the Empress Dowager Cixi. You will have ample time to stroll through one of Beijing's favorite parks.
