Tour Itinerary:
Day 01 USA-Beijing
Depart the USA for Beijing.
Day 02 Beijing (L)
On arrival, our guide will hold a welcome sign to meet you. You will be transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax.
Day 03 Beijing (B, L)
In the morning, you will take a half-day excursion to explore the incredible Forbidden City with its grand palaces and courtyards. Built in 1420, it was here that 24 emperors lived and ruled for over 500 years. The South Gate leads you to Tian'anmen Square - the biggest of its kind in the world. In the afternoon, you will go to the beautiful Summer Palace where you can discover gardens, palaces and pavilions with temples and halls in a tranquil, landscaped lakeside setting.
Day 04 Beijing (B, L)
In the morning, you will take a half-day guided visit to the awesome Great Wall of China. Here you can enjoy the stunning views as you stroll along this seemingly endless piece of history, which winds its way into the far distance. In the afternoon, you will go to the Ming Tomb, which took over 200 years to complete. Then, in the evening, you will enjoy a fascinating Peking Opera Show at the Liyuan Theatre.
Day 05 Beijing-Datong (B, L)
Today, you will take an aftertoon train to Datong.
Day 06 Datong (B, L)
In the morning, you will have a visit of Yungang Grotto, the oldest one of the three major cave clusters in China, which was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. Yungang Grotto is also one of the world heritage. In the afternoon, you will visit the marvellous and incredible Hanging Monastery. The Hanging Monastery on the cliff was bulit more than 1500 years ago and it combines different religions. Furthermore, you can visit the Wooden Pagoda which is located in YingXi'an County and is the oldest and highest wooden structure in China. The Wooden Pagoda is now under good protection.
Day 07 Datong-Taiyuan (B, L)
Today, you will take a train to Taiyuan. Then you will have a view of the Twin-Pagoda Temple, a symbol of Taiyuan on account of its unique architecture.
Day 08 Taiyuan-Pingyao (B, L)
In the morning, the coach will take you to the Qiaojia Yard which is a yard for the business man in Ming dynasty. After that, in the afternoon, you will drive to Pingyao by coach.
Day 09 Pingyao-Taiyuan (B, L)
Today you just have an overall view of Pingyao Ancient City. Being one of the four wholly-protected ancient cities in China, Pingyao Ancient City is thought of as the 'treasure house' of ancient Chinese architectures. You will pass through the ancient town and take a walk along the street to fully appreciate the atmosphere of the city. You can also take some local snacks such as Pingyao Beef that has been well-known from the Ming Dynasty. Finally, you will drive back to Taiyuan.
Day 10 Taiyuan-Xi'an (B, L)
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Xi'an, one of China's ancient capitals. Upon arrival, you will have a city tour of the City Wall that still compasses the center of Xi'an. City tour also includes the Shanxi History Museum where you will discover how Xi'an became the cradle of Chinese culture.
Day 11 Xi'an (B, L)
In the morning, you will visit the world-famous Terracotta Warriors where life-sized infantrymen, archer, officers and their horses symbolically guard the tomb of the first Qin emperor. Then in the afternoon, you will continue your tour to appreciate the dramatic Wild Goose Pagoda. And in the evening, you will be entertained with the marvelous Tang Dynasty Show.
Day 12 Xi'an-Beijing-USA (B)
Today you will take a flight back to Beijing, and then take the international flight back to the USA.
